solar panels
Solomon's UCC has gone solar!
In the spring of 2024, the congregation voted to install a solar panel array that covers 100% of our energy usage. The decision was made as part of our commitment to care for God's creation and steward our environment well. Over the course of their life, the 30 solar panels on our roof will help us avoid 549,500 lbs of carbon dioxide.
We are so grateful to RE-volv for their financing and guidance, and to GreenBrilliance for their installation work.

Native trees
With the help of Pennsylvania Interfaith Power & Light and some WONDERFUL community volunteers, we're working to plant native trees and shrubs all over our property! Our hope is that native vegetation will support our local climate and help native wildlife thrive.
Solomon's Memorial Garden
The patio, gazebo, and garden, featuring plants native to Pennsylvania, were built and dedicated to the community in 2012. The garden is full of flowers, grasses, and - yes - weeds that provide nourishment and habitat to local wildlife! We just let it do its thing and appreciate the beauty of God’s landscaping.
The patio is also a wheelchair accessible prayer labyrinth.
Come visit any time!

Butterfly and pollinator Garden
Our pollinator garden was installed in May 2024. It features native geraniums, milkweeds, phlox, cone flowers, grasses, and more! Pollinators such as butterflies, bees, wasps, and flies are an important part of our ecosystem and food systems. God made no mistakes when creating these important little bugs and the plants that feed them!
